The number strongest and most frequently found in nature.

The number of films you can sneak-watch in a theater before getting famished.

The number of tries it takes, on a good day.

Photo taken at a utility pole 3 minutes from my front door.

I like the number three. It reminds me of my elementary school days when I fought with my classmates to stand third in line at the cafeteria. The old saying was, "First the worst, second the best, and third the golden bird." We chanted it every time we stood in line and made fun of whoever was first.

I like that chant thing @radiokermany had going in school. May have to try that.

This is a wonderful photograph - it captures the quality of paint really well... Not to mention that blood red is just plain sinister.

you know who said...

i love it! bronze is best. third is golden. perfect.

it's what caught my eye. the tattered redness. and i can only imagine what the pole looked like when it was first painted this red, top to bottom!

in hinduism, number 3 is deemed to be an auspicious number b/c of the trinity (brahma, vishnu and shiva). you can even see it embedded in the aum/am sign. but number 3 is most significant to me b/c it's the number of birthday cakes that i think all should have on their special day. this is my own trinity: red velvet, choco cake with choco ganache, and an ice-cream cake from carvel.
